A Family Owned Business
The Halvorson family has been in the helicopter business since 1965. In 1992, Elling Halvorson and Lon Halvorson formed Rainier Helicopter Logging, Inc.. We had success logging with a fleet of Bell Huey’s, a Bell 214B and a Kaman K1200 KMAX. With the timber market downturn in the late 90’s we rapidly restructured Rainier and began looking internationally for work. In 1998, we changed our name to Rainier Heli-Lift, Inc. to fit our new mission. As the company continued to grow, so did the request for aircraft leasing. We pursued this business and currently have over 15 aircraft on lease and continue to operate the KMAX for firefighting and construction work. In 2009 Rainier updated its name to Rainier Heli International, Inc. to better reflect our global leasing business.
Because we are a family owned and operated company, we are able to make decisions and act quickly on transactions. In addition, Rainier has access and support from the Halvorson aircraft fleet owned by other entities which includes over 80 aircraft.
